Fear of launching

Nov 1, 2022

Monday is the day to set new goals. Yesterday, October 31st (the last Monday of the month), was the day I started the next stage of my business. I was afraid to invest too much and not be successful. Being fearful of the new is expected.

In the afternoon, I met with entrepreneurs who said they shared the same insecurities. One of them said that now and then, she looks back and thinks she could have started her business sooner. We, as good friends, share our support.

I told them about my fears when I started the budgets and heard words of encouragement. The truth is that, to defeat my worries, I try to arm myself with information. I do a lot of research, accounts, and spreadsheets. Every minute invested in studies reduces my fear.

The writer Mel Robbins says: Fear gets bigger the more we think about it. She also says that 90% of people with specific phobias are no longer afraid after undergoing exposure therapy. It means that you must face your fears.

Without being aware of the ways of fear in the human body, I wrote about the launch of my first book:

– I’m afraid of doing it right and wrong. I’m fearful of being judged, of being thought crazy. I’m scared to sell two copies and to sell 20,000 copies. I’m afraid of everything!

One factor that most generates my insecurities is the lack of guarantees. The problem is that I cannot guarantee that my efforts will yield the desired results. I can only plan and do my best to get where I want.
